Ruff Ruff Couture® began in November 1999 with a rescued Italian Greyhound named Francis. When he joined the Glasson family, he had no wardrobe of his own. Because of his short coat and minimal body fat, going without clothing was not an option. However, finding stylish and properly fitted pieces proved nearly impossible.

For months, Francis wore fleece and ill-fitting sweaters simply to stay warm. Then, eight months later, Daphne — a spirited Italian Greyhound with a clear flair for fashion — joined the family. Unlike her mellow brother, Daphne had little patience for bulky layers and poor fits. As a result, designer Jaimie Glasson realized something had to change.

A former model and fashion television executive, Jaimie decided to create the clothing she couldn’t find. That decision led to the birth of Ruff Ruff Couture®.

💖 From Vintage Couture to Global Brand

Ruff Ruff Couture® first launched as a line of limited-edition vintage couture coats. Because the designs combined runway inspiration with canine comfort, the brand quickly gained attention. Soon after, the collection expanded to include dresses, tanks, t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, coats, rain-slickers, sweaters, blankets, jewelry, bowls, toys, and travel carriers.
